  19. No spam filter is 100% perfect as there is continuous effort on both sides of the spam battle. The spammers use different return addresses and move to different mail servers to avoid being detected. The Anti- Spam filters counter this by adding mail server addresses to block these incoming possible spam emails.

Mail Guard Anti-Spam solution uses a unique combination of technology and human intervention to detect and sideline spam mails before they reach user "Inboxes".

When email addressed to users who opted in for the anti-spam service reaches Pacnet servers, the Anti-Spam rule sets take effect. Any message that meet the criteria of the rule sets will be classified as 'suspected spam' and 'sidelined' into the 'Bulk Mails' folder.

Mail that does not meet the criteria is considered legitimate mail and is delivered to the user "Inboxes".

Given the random characteristics of spam emails, Pacnet uses the technology-human combination to determine whether a mail is a spam or not.

Mail Guard Anti-Spam scanner is a heuristic, self-learning filter, which will learn the latest spam signatures and adapt to the dynamic natures of spam.

Human interventions will further tune the filter to accurately classify if a mail is indeed a spam.
